When the pandemic started and we were sheltering in place. I thought I would live stream some of my songs or at least make some videos of me playing, and post them here and on YouTube. That never happened.
I have mostly been learning a new technology for web development that is going to change the internet.
So I have decided to share some of the songs I already have recorded. I hopefully will record some of the ten songs I have written in the last three months soon.
This is the title song of my album; A Family’s Stand.
I wrote a screenplay a few years back, A Family’s Stand, that’s about four generations of an Irish American family and their connection to an old growth forest. The whole story came to me on a two hour drive to visit my brother.
I wrote this song for the movie.
Whoever purchases the rights to the movie will also get this song to use during the credits or wherever.
The second verse in the song my family and friends are singing backup, which I recorded during a Thanksgiving gathering one year. Most of them had never heard the song before.
Thanks I hope you enjoy.
May The Forest Be With You!
Into the wilderness I am going To a stand of trees so grand And when I visit there, there is a feeling There is a feeling that I am home There is my mother, there is my father There is my sister, my brother, and my lover And when I visit there, there is a feeling There is a feeling that I am home Chorus: I am standing with my family In my family’s stand X2 Into the wilderness we are going To a stand of trees so grand And when we visit there, there is a feeling There is a feeling that we are home We have fallen in love there, we have said goodbye there We have laughed and cried there, and made love there And when we visit there, there is a feeling There is a feeling that we are home Chorus: We are standing all together In our family’s stand X2
