He’s My Dad

I wrote this song a few days before my dad’s 70th birthday and talked my brother and sister into video taping us singing it for his birthday. The eight thousand pounds in the song refers to how many pounds he used to lift either in a week or a month not really sure. He was weight lifting in his 60s.

My Dad was a great man, as my Mom said. He had lots of interests and lots of opinions. Our relationship was like many between Father and Son, with ups and downs. Sometimes we got along famously; sometimes I had to challenge one of his latest opinions.  Even though we got into some heated discussions, I still respected him and held him in high regard. (excerpt from my eulogy for his memorial)
